Important Information

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

Applicants MUST hold:

PPE REQUIREMENTS

The practical will be completed in a simulated environment and full PPE will be required. The following PPE is required:

  • Safety work boots – steel capped, lace up with ankle support.
  • Full-length pants
  • Long sleeve shirt or long sleeve high visibility shirt
  • Hi-vis vest
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses eye protection

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LL&N)

Before training begins, participants will go through an assessment that helps us determine if any learning support is needed. To successfully complete this course, participants are expected to have the following language, literacy, and numeracy skills:

  • Interpret and comprehend workplace safety signs and symbols.
  • Comprehend workplace policies, procedures, and informational materials.
  • Comprehend basic spoken English.
  • Communicate essential safety-related information

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

ISSUING OF CERTIFICATES

ATS as provider of this training will issue and email you an electronic copy of your Statement of Attainment within 5-10 business days of completing the course. Your Statement of Attainment is issued by ATS as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Other Things to Know

STUDY MATERIAL 

Students are to complete pre-training study material supplied by ATS prior to scheduled training date and to have it on the day.

HIGH-RISK WORK LICENCE

Learners have 60 days to lodge their completed documents with the relevant administering statutory authority in each jurisdiction including WorkSafe Victoria and SafeWork SA, who will after assessing the application issue the candidate with a Nationally Recognised Licence to Perform High Risk Work for the relevant class. Candidates who already have a HRW licence will have the new class added and have the licence reissued.

Additional fees are charged by the administering authority at the time of lodgment for issuing the HRW Licence.

OBTAINING YOUR LICENCE:

The licence to perform High-Risk Work is issued by WorkSafe Victoria. You have 60 days to obtain a high-risk work licence, once you have successfully completed the course. You need to lodge your licence application and Notice of Assessment via the WorkSafe portal.

  • You will receive an email from myWorkSafe that contains your Training ID (approximately 2-3 days once you complete the course)
  • The email will contain a link that allows you to download the Notice of Assessment (NOA) to enable you to lodge your licence application.

You can now apply, renew or amend a high-risk work licence online at: www.myworksafe.vic. gov.au.

SoA will be issued to participants, via email within ten (10) business working days. To prevent delay, participants MUST pay in full, and have a current valid email address, valid contact number and USI number.

 

Assessment Methods

To be deemed competent, participants are required to successfully complete a combination of the written and practical tasks which form an assessment instrument.
