Course Overview
This course prepares individuals and organisations for the safe and efficient operation of vehicle loading cranes with a lifting capacity of under 10 metre tonnes. Participants will acquire essential skills and knowledge for effective crane handling, benefiting both their personal development and the overall safety of the workplace.
Please note that for cranes with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more, operators must hold a High Risk Work Licence – Class CV, which is not provided through this course.

$750.00 – Client supply own vehicle and lifting equipment on the day. Min 3 max 8 p/p at client site.
$1000.00 – ATS site – Client supply own vehicle on the day
$2600.00 – ATS site – ATS supply the vehicle & certified lifting equipment

Course Outcomes
Participants who are deemed competent in knowledge and practical assessments will receive:
- Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment (SoA) for the unit of competency RIIHAN307E – Operate a vehicle loading crane requirements
SoA will be issued to participants via email within ten (10) business working days. To prevent delay, participants MUST pay in full, and have a current valid email address, valid contact number, and USI number.
Important Information
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES
While there are no specific course prerequisites, it’s important to note that there is an age requirement for this course.
- Participants MUST be 18 and above years of age
PPE REQUIREMENTS
The practical will be completed in a simulated environment and full PPE will be required. The following PPE is required:
- Safety work boots – steel capped, lace up with ankle support.
- Full-length pants
- Long sleeve shirt or long sleeve high visibility shirt
- Hi-vis vest
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses eye protection
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LL&N)
Before training begins, participants will go through an assessment that helps us determine if any learning support is needed. To successfully complete this course, participants are expected to have the following language, literacy, and numeracy skills:
- Interpret and comprehend workplace safety signs and symbols.
- Comprehend workplace policies, procedures, and informational materials.
- Comprehend basic spoken English.
- Communicate essential safety-related information
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
STUDY MATERIAL
Students are to complete pre-training study material supplied by ATS prior to the scheduled training date and to bring with them on the day.
ISSUING OF CERTIFICATES
ATS as provider of this training will issue and email you an electronic copy of your Statement of Attainment within 5-10 business days of completing the course. Your Statement of Attainment is issued by ATS as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

PROOF OF IDENTITY:
Participants are required to bring one of the following current valid photo identification documents (ID) on the day of training:
- Australian or international Passport
- Driver’s Licence
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Assessment Methods
To be deemed competent, participants are required to successfully complete a combination of the written and practical tasks which form an assessment instrument.
